On 10/17/19 at approximately 12:30PM our cruise ship captain notified us that our ship would not be able to make port in Newport, RI, because of high seas and gale force winds. Our tour was scheduled for 11AM the next morning on 10/18/19, so my calls to this tour operator were placed at 22 hours prior to the scheduled tour. The weather and the timing were out of my control, and yes, I was slightly less than the 24 hour minimum on the cancellation policy, but I was very disappointed that Native Newporter Tours declined my request for a refund of $110. Considering the weather, I very much doubt that he would have been able to book someone else for a walking tour on that day, and I believe that most tour operators given these circumstances would have refunded my purchase price. In addition, I have called several times, hoping to discuss this with Peter, but he as chosen not to return my phone calls.

Hi The policy, set by TripAdvisor, is common in the trade. I declined another Tour for your Tour and this help prevents revenue loss. I have issued you full credit toward another Tour. It is part of the aspects of (cruise) travel and a chance we both signed off on. Sorry... Best health, Peter

We enjoyed the history and the guide made the tour fun. Very enjoyable. We could have used 15 more minutes at the mansion, but we were able to get back to the bus in time with no visit to the gift shop.

Lack of communication despite several days trying to book a tour via phone and text was a precursor to the ultimate shun when Peter failed to appear at 8:50 where he told us to be. Heavy rains and cold conditions, according to him, were reason to cancel the tour. Of course he never bothered to contact us and when I called him he said he didn't have me scheduled! Maybe he had a bad week, but we booked this tour based upon the many five star ratings and needless to say we're extremely disappointed. My only choice was one star... it would have been a Black Hole if I had the option.

So sorry and remember you agreed to cancel too. Unfortunately you only had the one day to tour as well. Remember, our Groupons never expire... Best health!
