Private NYC Central Park 4 Hour Adventure Tour

Overview
Escape the chaos of New York City…right in the middle of Manhattan! Tour Central Park with a local guide who will introduce you to the stories, historic sites, and natural beauty found throughout this urban green space.

Your tour guide will fill you in on the park’s past as a thriving village of African Americans and immigrants and their eventual displacement during the formation of the landscape we see today. While evidence of this village is long gone, we’ll view other historic structures including beautiful Bethesda Terrace and the Women's Rights Pioneers Monument.

Our Central Park walking tour will pass iconic artworks including some notable literary figures under the stately trees of The Mall and the mosaic-tiled Strawberry Fields circle, a tribute to singer-activist John Lennon.

As we enjoy the variety of flora and fauna around The Lake and its picture-perfect Bow Bridge, you’ll finish up the tour happy knowing your ticket has directly contributed to conservation education!

Jessie gave an incredible tour of Central Park! She is a wealth of knowledge and shares it with the group in a way that is fun and entertaining and informative. This is the second tour I have gone on led by Jessie Fahey and I will certainly go on other ones with her. She comes highly recommended!

Most tours are rather passive. You stand, you listen, you learn something, and then rinse and repeat. Jessie’s tour was different. It was interactive. She encouraged us to ask questions, to look at our environment, and really focus on the experience. And I learned a lot too. I’ve lived in NYC for (mumble mumble) years and she told me facts and stories about Central Park that I never knew before. The stories about the benches (the original ones), and the pricey public proposal (benches again), plus the original uses for familiar park buildings such as the Dairy and the Chess/Checkers building were entirely new to me. And I had no idea the Boathouse Lake was modeled after the Panama Canal (or that the canal looked like that).
