Excellent day of fishing while in port from our Alaskan cruise! Captain William and Vreg (sp) were the perfect leaders for our trip. We had one fishing newbie, but the other three were experienced anglers. We caught 3 rockfish, 3 halibut, and 4 king salmon, as well as a few random fish that had to go back. If you're trying to decide which charter to take, definitely ask for Captain William in Ketchikan! We wanted to stay longer, but had to catch our cruise ship out! Thanks for everything, William!

We booked AKC a few months prior to our cruise. The morning we arrived in Ketchikan, we got a phone call letting us know exactly where & what time to meet. William and his son were our captain and deck hand. My husband and I and our two friends climbed on and oh what day! William took us out about an hour to his favorite spot and we started fishing. It was rainy and foggy and cold but after about 30 min we started reeling in some big ones! We were out about 5 hours and caught some big Silver and some monster King Salmon! William had us help in every way, putting bait on the line and reeling in and netting the big ones! As we headed back to Ketchikan, we spotted a pod of killer whales that came around our boat...about 20 of them. William slowed to a stop and we watched these killer whales breach out of the water and jump and play! Talk about exciting!!! Then as we headed off again there was a big humpback blowing and rolling over we got to see and enjoy!!! WOW just WOW!! This fishing trip booked with Alaska King Charter was beyond our expectations!

We arrived Juneau by cruise ship and went out with AKC on June 19 for King salmon fishing. We went out with a nice lady with her pre-teen son as deckhand. They were super nice and made us very comfortable in their neat and clean boat. We trolled for 4 hours, but no fish, not a single bite. I had done my homework before booking and know that it was peak of king salmon run in Ketchikan at the time. Later, I realized that catching a king salmon is a relatively rare experience even in Alaska. You may see a lot of pictures with happy customers holding king salmons, but it is certainly not every-day scenes. There are far more silver or pink salmons available when it's their run time. It was certainly a great boat ride. I have no complaint, but may book them next time when silver or pink salmons are running, just don't expect kings.
