I booked a tour for four people by phone approximately 3 weeks in advance. When we showed up at the little booth in Sedona on the day of our tour, the woman there, whose voice I recognized as having been the one who took my reservation, said they had no record of the reservation! Fortunately she was able to get one of their guides to come in and take us out. That part of the experience, the most important one of course, was amazing! I think the tour we took was called the 'Rough Rider Canyon Tour'. We went to out of the way places with an excellent guide, named Larry, who stopped a lot for photos and we got some amazing shots at sunset on our return. Larry was very knowledgeable about the area and wildlife, sociable, interesting to talk to, and gave us a great overall experience. It was obvious he cared about the environment. This tour company is highly recommended!! I know it can happen anywhere, but just to be safe be sure you confirm your reservation prior to showing up so you're not faced with an unpleasant surprise. We were lucky Larry could come right away to take us out, but that may not always be the case. Because of the mishap, I gave this company 4/5 stars.

Good friends of ours had recommended Earth Wisdom Tours so we didn't really bother to look around at other tour operators in Sedona. I daresay that even if we had, we wouldn't have been able to find a better tour guide than Kevin who took us on the sunset Vortex Tour. There were only three of us on the tour (my husband and I plus another guy who had booked the same tour) but Kevin was enthusiastic nonetheless and made a special point to ask about us, our interests and our prior experiences before proceeding with the tour. Given my husband's interest in photography, we thought that it was wonderful that Kevin made a point of stopping in various places where we could take great shots while simultaneously telling stories to ensure that nobody was left out or bored while we snapped away. Not only did we get to see a couple of vortices, we also got to see various parts of sedona learn a bit of history, hear stories about the famous formations and also experience a sage burning ritual and some beautiful flute music while we took in the Mystic Vista vortex. I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed the tour - we'd definitely recommend it to others!

I was looking for a non-touristy, informative tour of Sedona and I found it! The Earth Wisdom Sunset Tour was spectacular. My guide was incredibly interesting and an excellent story teller. He's been living in Sedona for many years so gave us an insider's view of the town. We learned about the history of Sedona, the geology, native american traditions and culture, and the current climate of the town. He explained about vortexes and the mystical side of the area. Then he took us to some back areas of Sedona that not many visitors get to see. The tour ended on the top of a remote hilltop overlooking Boyton Canyon just as the sun was setting over the red rocks. Our guide pulled out a musical flute type instrument that sounded like something the native americans play. It was so moving and peaceful as the sun set over the canyon and all you could hear was the flute playing and the wind whipping through the canyon. I will never forget that moment as long as I live. I highly recommend this tour. Thank you Earth Wisdom.
