Overview

Custom tour designed for you and where your interests are. We are not on a schedule and can even adapt as we go depending upon what we find on your special day.

I am a local historian and naturalist who has lived in the area for over 50 years. I consider myself an interpreter of nature adding color to the already stunning beauty you'll see. We'll concentrate on the myriad wildlife, the diverse biology, and incredible geology of the Rockies. We'll also get insight into what it might have been like for early pioneers and lodge keepers as well as indigenous people like the Arapaho, Cheyenne, and Ute.

My tours are completely flexible so if you want to hike for 3 or 4 miles, great! Or if you just want sit back and relax and enjoy the view that's fine too! Either way we'll stop often to photograph and talk about the amazing sights.

What To Expect

Rocky Mountain National Park

This tour begins with meeting your party at your lodging in Estes Park or at the Estes Park Visitor Center on 500 Big Thompson Ave. Follow me in the safety and comfort of your own vehicle as we talk on a 2 way radio and make a few short stops to view historical sites and look for wildlife in the Estes Valley before heading into Rocky Mountain National Park. In winter our destination is Bear Lake for breathtaking snowy scenery or maybe a short snowshoe walk in the forest! In summer our destination is Trail Ridge Road the highest continuous road in the US. Both tours include plenty of stops for wildlife viewing, photography and a short hike as you and the time allow.

My husband and I wanted to take our daughter to Rocky Mountain National Park but we were a little nervous of the driving. I looked on Trip Advisor and read reviews and decided to book our tour with Bruce. This was the highlight of our vacation! Bruce was full of information on the wildlife, vegetation and history of the park. He informed us he has driven this tour around 2000 times and still got just as excited as us when we saw moose, several elk, ewes and their lambs ❤️, marmot and other wildlife. His love for nature and the outdoors is very evident. His driving was excellent and we were at ease the whole time. He stopped for bathroom breaks and pictures as much as we wanted. I highly recommend this tour with Bruce and we would definitely book with him again!

This tour with Bruce was fantastic! He is incredibly knowledgeable about the area and is friendly, nice and easy to be with for the 3 hours. We learned so much that we were able to explore the park on our own and even found some moose!!! Do not hesitate to book this tour; you won’t be disappointed. The views, stories and encounters with nature were amazing !
