Private Tour: Albuquerque Full Day

Overview
This is a private tour for 1-3 people.   We can do as much as you like and can fit in 8 hours.  We can drive through historic Route 66-downtown Albuquerque; visit the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, museum, & store; Old Town-plaza, church, hidden patios, galleries/shops.

We will drive north on Rio Grande Blvd, following the river through the valley occupied by Pueblo Indians, Spanish settlers and still is home to farms, and wine growers.

We can visit historic Los Poblanos Lavender Farm/shop; the village of Corrales; and prehistoric Pueblo Indian village of Kuaua (Coronado State Monument-established during the Classic Period of Anasazi Culture). On our way back to Albuquerque we will see Sandia Pueblo's herds of cattle and Buffalo and ride the Sandia Peak Tram for magnificent views of the area.

This is a perfect tour of the present and past filling you with beauty and delicious food. Lunch options are many depending on your cravings. Great Photo tour!

Albuquerque
An overview of Albuquerque, starting in Downtown Albuquerque, we will look at the historic building and the changes that have been made on Route 66 and visit a Trading Post. We can see the many mural created for the Beautify Albuquerque Project visit the historic Railyards, home to the new Film school from the University and much more!

Los Poblanos Open Space
We will visit the historic Los Poblanos Ranch and the Farm Shop that features artisan lavender products made from organic lavender essential oil along with their Farm Foods collection fresh from the kitchen located by the Rio Grande River and the Bosque (one of the largest Cottonwood forests in the world). Los Poblanos is one of the oldest farms and still operates as a farm, restaurant and Inn.

Sandia Park
A trip to the Sandia Tram is also a possibility. A trip on the Sandia Peak Aerial Tramway transports you above deep canyons and breathtaking terrain a distance of 2.7 miles. See some of nature's more dramatic beauty unfold before you. At sunset the desert skies produce a spectacular array of color, and your vantage point from the observation deck atop 10,378 foot Sandia Peak in the Cibola National Forest affords an 11,000 square-mile panoramic view of the Rio Grande Valley and the Land of Enchantment. Located on the eastern edge of Albuquerque in the Sandia Foothills at the end of Tramway Road.

Indian Pueblo Cultural Center
we can visit the Albuquerque's Indian Pueblo Cultural Center with a restaurant, a museum and an award-winning gallery and store. The museum is the perfect place to discover the history, culture, and art of the 19 Pueblos of New Mexico. The museum collection houses thousands of rare artifacts and works of art, including a world-renowned collection of historic and contemporary Pueblo pottery, as well as baskets, weavings, paintings, murals, jewelry, and photographs (www.indianpueblo.org.) The gallery and Native Art store, Shumakolowa, is a showcase for works from Pueblo and Southwestern Native artists. Dances are offered on Saturday and Sundays

Old Town Poco a Poco Plaza
Returning to Old Town Plaza, we can stroll the Plaza, visit museums, or shop at over 150 stores and galleries for unique gifts from the Southwest and around the world. Quiet hidden patios, winding brick paths, gardens and balconies are waiting to be discovered! We can have an afternoon coffee, ice cream, or just stroll around shops before returning to your hotel. Let me know your thoughts. The Church on the Plaza dates from the 1700"s and is a New Mexican icon.

We spent an entire day with our guide Any Atkins from Corm Maiden Tours. She was very attuned to our interests and made sure we were able to see a variety of sites and make the most of this visit. She was very knowledgable about the area and able to answer any questions. I would definitely recommend booking this tour.
