Private Tour: Napa and Sonoma Wine Country

Overview
Experience some of the top wineries in Sonoma County and Napa Valley on this private, full-day guided tour. You’ll be chauffeured from San Francisco across the iconic Golden Gate Bridge and through the Wine Country’s rolling, vineyard-strewn hills. Sip wines at informative tastings and learn about different winemaking techniques the local vintners use to craft the taste of their wines. Relax in the scenic and laid-back town of Yountville for lunch (own expense) and peruse the local art galleries and boutiques. We found our Napa and Sonoma wine tour on Viator and booked it from there. Booking was very easy and website is user friendly. I read all the reviews before booking because I'm weird like that. A few things about Grey Line, I would've given them five stars but there are things they missed. There is an option to get picked up from your hotel which you just have to call in or email. We emailed but didn't get a confirmation so we called again. We were afraid they were going to forget about us but the bus did pick us up but it was a different bus. Then it picked up a couple more people and dropped us off to the main office near union square. When we got to the office, the line was long which I didn't care but I did care about having a spot in the bus sitting next to my boyfriend. We got to be bus and it was already full and we're just lucky to find 2 seats next to each other so that we can sit next to each other. The bus driver was also the tour guide. I honestly forgot his name but he was really good and I was really happy that he was excellent at this tour. Learned so much from him more than the people in the wineries. We went to 3 wineries, Cline Cellars, Andretti, and Sutter Home. I wished the winery choices were better but our experience were good at all the wineries. We enjoyed about 3 or more wines at each winery. We actually joined the wine club at Andretti lol. We stopped at Yountville for lunch. One thing I wished they told us was that they should've let us know that most restaurants there are reservation so we could've planned ahead but we found a burger place and was fine with it. Drive back was good but the driver didn't stop at the Napa Valley welcome sign which I really wanted to take a picture with - it's a tourist bus of course everyone wants a picture with the Napa Valley welcome sign so I would recommend to work on that Grey Line. Return was easy, they had 2 drop offs which were fisherman's wharf and union square and some people got dropped off to the SFO airport which was nice of them. Will do this again with Grey Line but with a different package. Definitely worth the money, we paid about $120 and it was easy and fun.

The tour itself was good but the tour company appeared to have no record of our private tour when I went in to Taylor St San Francisco to confirm our booking. They tried to get us to join the coach tour but eventually agreed we were booked on the private tour. The vineyards we went to were not expecting us but to their credit did their best to accommodate us.
