After a busy, hot and humid day in New Orleans our group of 14 were feeling a bit exhausted by the time we got to the tour. Our check in process to get our armbands was fast and easy (as fast as easy as wrangling a group of 14 can be :) ). We got our hurricanes-and this was really the only small issue we had with the tour. The hurricanes were good, but the tour offers BOGO hurricanes with the purchase of a tour and we were each only given one, even when we were ordering two at once for other people in our group. Definitely not a dealbreaker though, and for anyone booking this trip I'd recommend letting the bartender know you're part of a tour group if you want to take advantage of the BOGO hurricanes.
We met our tour guide, Justin, outside of the Voodoo Lounge and he immediately began learning our names and asked us if there was anything we'd specifically like to see. He explained the rules for the tour clearly and concisely and we were off! We first stopped at Louis Armstrong park where he told us about the jail that had been there, and his storytelling was fantastic. We then went toward St Louis Cathedral and he continued to tell us interesting true crime stories along the way that had us all entertained. He took questions and responded to them fully and intelligently and the humor he added to the tour was splendid. After Jackson Square he took us to a pirate bar and then took us to the Lalaurie Mansion. The tour ended afterwards and we all parted ways feeling more educated about the history of this fantastic city and having greatly enjoyed our time on the tour with Justin.
