Private Unique Road to Hana Adventure

Overview
We're called Unique for a reason... This is not your standard Hana tour. We'll take you on a full day adventure all the way to Hana and beyond then back, or all the way around (depending on weather and road conditions). We will stop at all the best spots along the way, as your driver negotiates the busy 650+ turns and 55+ one-lane bridges. You can just kick back, take in the views, and enjoy the fun!

Highlights may include hiking through lush jungle, swim in pristine waterfalls, taste fresh banana bread and coconut ice cream, hidden lava tubes, scenic view points, local food trucks and farm stands, black or red sand beaches... and learning about Hawaii's history, geology, and legends...

Remember it is YOUR private tour, so talk to your guide about what YOU like and want to do!

What To Expect
1
Pua'a Ka'a State Park
One of the Road to Hana's most amazing waterfalls! Weather-permitting, you'll be able to swim in the "refreshing" water (read: chillyyyyy!!), and even get behind the waterfall for an epic photo.
2
Keā€˜anae Point
A big time favorite along the Road to Hana, Ke'anae point offers breathtaking views of the coastline, with big waves crashing on the rugged lava rocks. And of course, fresh banana bread, yum ;-)
3
Hana
We'll reach Hana just around lunch time, and you'll have a choice to sample some of the yummy local food trucks in the area. Local bbq, fresh fish, Thai, Mexican, Huli Huli chicken...? It's always a surprise!
4
Kaumahina State Wayside Park
A beautiful lookout point over the Hana coastline, overlooking Honomanu Bay and Ke'anae peninsula. Bonus point: a bathroom break if need!
5
Koki Beach
Just beyond Hana is a small hill, where it is said the bones of Pele, Goddess of the volcanoes, are buried. The rock is crumbly and erosion has turned the beach a deep shade of red. (Note this is not Kaihalulu / Red Sand Beach, which requires trespassing on private property and following a dangerous trail on which accidents happen regularly--we don't do that).
6
Wailua Falls
One of the Road to Hana's most photogenic waterfalls! If conditions allow, you might even be able to freshen up in the small pond.
7
ā€˜Oheā€˜o Gulch
We'll drive over the bridge that crosses over the famous Seven Sacred Pools, aka Oheo Gulch. Beautiful photo op! (Note: if you want to enter the National Park and hike up on the Pipiwai trail through the Bamboo Forest, up to Waimoku Falls, please select the 7 Sacred Pools & Bamboo Forest Hike Tour!)
8
Alelele Bridge
Another stunning view on the Road to Hana, right at the edge between the lush rainforest of the "wet" side, and the dry brush of the "backside". (Note: going all the way around East Maui is NOT guaranteed, as it depends on weather, road conditions, and ongoing road works).
9
Ho'okipa Beach Park
On the way back, if you still have a little bit of energy left, we can stop at Ho'okipa beach to check out surfing action, and hopefully a few turtles basking in the sun!

We did the Best of Road to Hana & Delphine was our guide. She was AWESOME! We had a great day and couldn't have asked for more. Great views, took us to a gorgeous picnic lunch and was very knowledgeable. Private tour is the way to go!

Mahalo Valerie! It was a real pleasure to spend the day with you and the family, and so glad you all enjoyed it! That picnic lunch spot sure is one of my favorites on the Road :-) Aloha!

Don't attempt to navigate the Road to Hana a/k/a Divorce Highway by yourself. Let Delphine drive you and you will have a much better time. Initially I was against the idea of a private tour but after having Delphine drive us, I would do it again. She knows the road and the area very well and she is very sensitive to your needs. My daughter gets motion sickness, but made the trip without any issues. It was a great experience and Delphine is a pro as well as a great person. When you take the tour ask her how to put a chicken to sleep.

Mahalo nui loa! You and your family were such a hoot to spend the day with, we laughed so hard, and yes I did learn how to put a chicken to sleep... guess what, I've had guests who have indeed asked me how since, ha!! I must admit I have only tried on my cat, and it doesn't work quite as well!! Please come back for more adventures and laughs! Aloha!

Delphine was a true professional. Her passion for the island as well as her knowledge created an amazing experience for us. Besides all the fun adventures some things that we saw and did made an amazing day! We went jumping off a cliff for the highlight of the day. We decided not to do the road to Hana, we decided to go off the beaten path and do so wonderful roads and Adventures on the West part of the island. Visiting with Auntie Loraine was also a highlight, even though she didn't have banana cream pie that day. Her shave ice was perfect. The whole day was the highlight of our trip thank you so much Delphine!

Mahalo Bonnie! So happy I got to show you around West Maui, my favorite tour! Auntie Lorraine now makes banana bread ice cream sandwiches--every bit as decadent as the cream pie--so you'll just "have to" come back! Aloha!
