Overview

We're called Unique for a reason... This is not your standard Hana tour. We'll take you on a full day adventure all the way to Hana and beyond then back, or all the way around (depending on weather and road conditions). We will stop at all the best spots along the way, as your driver negotiates the busy 650+ turns and 55+ one-lane bridges. You can just kick back, take in the views, and enjoy the fun!

Highlights may include hiking through lush jungle, swim in pristine waterfalls, taste fresh banana bread and coconut ice cream, hidden lava tubes, scenic view points, local food trucks and farm stands, black or red sand beaches... and learning about Hawaii's history, geology, and legends...

Remember it is YOUR private tour, so talk to your guide about what YOU like and want to do!

At time of booking, Cruise ship passengers must provide the following information at time of booking: ship name, docking time, disembarkation time and re-boarding time
Refunds will not be issued if tour/activity is missed due to late or non-arrival of cruise ship
Due to uneven surfaces, this tour is not recommended for those with walking disabilities or using a wheelchair. Please bring or wear sneakers/keens/water shoes with good grip
Operates in all weather conditions, rain or shine, please dress appropriately, bring change of clothes.

What To Expect

Pua'a Ka'a State Park

One of the Road to Hana's most amazing waterfalls! Weather-permitting, you'll be able to swim in the "refreshing" water (read: chillyyyyy!!), and even get behind the waterfall for an epic photo.

Ke‘anae Point

A big time favorite along the Road to Hana, Ke'anae point offers breathtaking views of the coastline, with big waves crashing on the rugged lava rocks. And of course, fresh banana bread, yum ;-)

Hana

We'll reach Hana just around lunch time, and you'll have a choice to sample some of the yummy local food trucks in the area. Local bbq, fresh fish, Thai, Mexican, Huli Huli chicken...? It's always a surprise!

Kaumahina State Wayside Park

A beautiful lookout point over the Hana coastline, overlooking Honomanu Bay and Ke'anae peninsula. Bonus point: a bathroom break if need!

Koki Beach

Just beyond Hana is a small hill, where it is said the bones of Pele, Goddess of the volcanoes, are buried. The rock is crumbly and erosion has turned the beach a deep shade of red. (Note this is not Kaihalulu / Red Sand Beach, which requires trespassing on private property and following a dangerous trail on which accidents happen regularly--we don't do that).

Wailua Falls

One of the Road to Hana's most photogenic waterfalls! If conditions allow, you might even be able to freshen up in the small pond.

‘Ohe‘o Gulch

We'll drive over the bridge that crosses over the famous Seven Sacred Pools, aka Oheo Gulch. Beautiful photo op! (Note: if you want to enter the National Park and hike up on the Pipiwai trail through the Bamboo Forest, up to Waimoku Falls, please select the 7 Sacred Pools & Bamboo Forest Hike Tour!)

Alelele Bridge

Another stunning view on the Road to Hana, right at the edge between the lush rainforest of the "wet" side, and the dry brush of the "backside". (Note: going all the way around East Maui is NOT guaranteed, as it depends on weather, road conditions, and ongoing road works).

Ho'okipa Beach Park

On the way back, if you still have a little bit of energy left, we can stop at Ho'okipa beach to check out surfing action, and hopefully a few turtles basking in the sun!

One of our favourite and most memorable days on a 3 week trip of Hawaii! A day with Delphine as your guide is an opportunity not to be passed up! Our day tour with Delphine was packed with a cliff-side picnic, a hike with views of Humpback whales and the most delicious Banana Creme Pie I have ever tasted. Delphine picked us up in her luxury SUV and right away we knew we were in good hands. She knew so much about the island and has a knack for finding great places away from the crowds. Being a private tour, it was great to be able to have control of where we went and how long we stayed at each place. Delphine planned an awesome day for us by what we had said we were interested in, but was also really flexible when we decided to change a couple of things last minute. We had such a great time with Delphine, we will definitely do another tour with her when we are back in Maui. Thanks for the West Maui Adventure Delphine!

Wow! What a great time we had on the private tour of the Road to Hana with Delphine!! The trip itself was beautiful of course... what's not to love about sheer sea cliffs, electric blue water-scapes, gorgeous waterfalls, exhilarating hikes and off-the-beaten-path adventures? It was all that, but so much more. Having been on the road to Hana on a 'bus tour' before, I could really appreciate the value that a 'private tour' brought to the table. We were able to stop where we wanted to stop, and stay as long as we wanted. Delphine was more than accommodating. She was also bright, friendly, competent, know legible and personable. She is a wonderful conversationalist and fellow adventure-lover that translates so nicely into being a guide. She personally knows many locals and we benefited by stopping by the very best locals shops and food stops. Our favorite experiences were jumping off sea cliffs into the Venus pools (or sliding into them, like I did!), hiking down to red sand beach where blue waves meet red rocks and yes it's as brilliantly beautiful as it sounds, and swimming behind waterfalls. Wow! What an adventure. Furthermore, when we got home, Delphine sent us some pictures she had taken to help remember our adventure. Above, beyond and so very thoughtful. Thank you Delphine! I'll be passing along your name and number to any family or friends that plan to visit Maui. All the best!! Dawn
