Private Walking Tour of Philadelphia's Colonial Architecture

Overview
Explore the fascinating city of Philadelphia, central to the founding of American democracy. It is rich in history and full of iconic buildings and architectural landmarks. Your tour includes a visit inside the Christ Church burial grounds and stops at some of the city’s most important, and beautiful, civic buildings.

Your private guide will lead you to some of the most elaborately furnished buildings, including Powell House, built-in 1765 and known as the finest example of a Georgian house in the city. It welcomed some big names in its heyday day including George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, and John Adams who, during their stay, would attend church on Sundays at St Peter's - a historic Episcopal church. You'll visit the historic Independence Hall, famous also for its perfect proportions, symmetry and balance. As you wander around, your guide will share stories of the historic buildings and their preservation, and the history and characters that shaped the city.

This tour was absolutely wonderful! My husband and I are not exactly world travelers, but we do make a point of going on at least one walking tour in any city we visit. We've been on some exceptional ones, both due to the depth of the knowledge of the guide and the overall tour experience. Patrick's tour was definitely one of the best we've ever been on. Every detail and story was woven together so nicely, and he was able to answer every one of our questions without hesitation. You can tell Patrick is so passionate about history and art, pointing out details of things that were both fascinating and easy to miss without his help. I would absolutely recommend for anyone who wants to know more about the history and architecture of Philadelphia to book Patrick's tour!
