THEY FORGOT WE MADE A RESERVATION! I had made the reservation well in advance (a week prior) and then had it confirmed it would be the day and time we had planned for via text 2 days prior. We drove an hour to the location only to find NO ONE was there. Finally, a woman with her hair in a towel came out of a cottage (the tour had mentioned it was on a private property so this was not surprising) and asked who we were. When we said we were here for the tour, she said, “Oh, looks like you weren’t on the books. This happens sometimes.” ?!?! She then told us we could enjoy seeing some sites around here and she would refund us our money “if I can’t locate someone…go enjoy and maybe we can try and contact each other.” I pointed out that I had sent three texts to the designated number given but she hadn’t received them and that there was no reception in the area. She ended up texting us (we went to an area with some reception) about 40 minutes later that she was refunding the money. No explanation and only “I’m sorry about the confusion. Hope you had a good time!” No apology for taking away our precious vacation time, which was more than the cost of the trip for us! DO NOT DO THIS TRIP IF YOU WANT A GUARANTEED EXCURSION. DON’T WASTE YOUR VACATION TIME LIKE WE DID.

"FOLKS" PLEASE KNOW THERE WAS ACCIDENT, NOTE THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED EVER BEFORE, IF YOU LOOK AT ALL THE OTHER REVIEWS THERE IS NO OTHER COMPLAINTS OF THIS EVER HAPPENING.. Again so sorry the person who was volunteering to help and came in at the last moment was not up to speed, they did not have a towel on their head, it was a head wrap as they had been recovering from a serious illness where they have lost a lot of their hair. Again our sincere apologies.

Five star experience and highlight of our trip to Maui! The hike was a meandering moderate walk through the King’s Garden with our tour guide Kana who was highly knowledgable, hilarious, and punctuated the tour with trivia and “game time” about Maui culture, history, fauna and flora, which made it entertaining, educational, and fun. Chocolate tasting and making were lovely features - what’s not to love about a waterfall hike with chocolate? Highly recommend.

Our guide Kana was wonderful. He was so informed, interesting, personable, and funny. We would rate this activity five stars, except that it is not really a hike, it is a walk through a beautiful, botanical garden in the tropical rainforest. It’s very beautiful and very magical, but really, not a hike. The chocolate demonstration and tasting at the end was delicious and fun! We did enjoy our time there. It was also fun to get a taste of the road to Hana which you drive on a little bit on your way to get there.

Mahalo for your lovely review, kindly note for some it is a fun mini hike, as the terrine is very uneven as you go thru the micro rainforest jungle. We describe once as a historical adventure walk, we then we got people complaining that it was more of a hike. Hence we appreciate your thoughts and one day we will find the happy medium. smile.
