Private Wild Horse Photo Safari from Tooele

Overview

The drive from Tooele to the Onaqui HMA will take approximately 45 minutes & once we arrive at the range, there are various locations where we will begin to look for the herd grazing, resting or coming to/from the watering holes. Depending on where the horses are located, there will likely be a bit of walking involved, so close toed shoes are required, and dressing in layers is also recommended to account for weather change.

During your time in the field you will receive one on one photography instruction to help you improve your technical skills as well as your ability to creatively frame an image. Achieving beautiful wildlife photographs is about more than just being in the right place at the right time, it's about seeing the possibilities of the scene unfolding in front of you through the lens. Please feel free to bring your preferred camera body, lens and tripod/monopod combinations but all external light sources and drones must be left at home.

What To Expect

Pony Express National Historic Trail

Guests will be driven along the historic Pony Express Trail from Lookout Pass down into the Skull valley on the way to view and photograph the wild Onaqui mustangs. Historical points of interest may be seen along the way and brief stops for photographic opportunities are made available.

We had wonderful time with Jen and learning about the horses and their behavior while driving looking for the horses. Jen seemed to have second sense of their whereabouts and presence. We were not fortunate enough to see a large herd but did see, two, three horses at a time. Definitely a worthwhile and unique activity. Jen was very accommodating, Her love and passion for horses was very obvious and it translated into very informative and fun afternoon.
