Private Yellowstone Tour: ICONIC Sites, Wildlife, Family Friendly Hikes + lunch

Overview
The park is empty since the flooding! The flooding caused zero changes to the tours that we have always operated! We will see all of the parks highlights and Iconic sites plus hidden areas! Seize the moment and come to Yellowstone during an all time low in tourism!

Our private tours are led by professional guides who have a formal education in wildlife biology. We will tour the park in modern chevy suburbans. We will see wildlife while visiting the most ICONIC destinations as well as hidden locations. During our day we will see Old Faithful, Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, Yellowstone Falls (308'), wildlife, large waterfalls, hidden geysers, and historic hotels. We will provide high end binoculars and spotting scopes for the entire group! It is our goal to educate your family on the science of the park and have them experience the wonder of hidden Yellowstone on each and every tour.

For lunch we will stop for an incredibly scenic picnic style lunch along the shore of Yellowstone Lake!

The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone is the most breathtaking sight inside Yellowstone National Park. Twenty miles long, the canyon is up to 4,000-feet wide and 1,200-feet deep in places. It's located on the eastern side of the park. From several vantage points, you can view Lower Falls plunging steeply into the canyon 308 feet, or the Upper Falls tumbling 109 feet.

Firehole Canyon Drive
Beautiful 40 foot waterfall at confluence of ancient rhyolite lava flows.
12
Firehole Lake Drive
Beautiful geysers and hot springs as well as the possibility of grazing bison!
13
Fountain Paint Pot
Along this short walk you will see very good examples of most types of thermal features found in Yellowstone. These features include some very pretty hot pools, steaming fumaroles, erupting geysers and probably the best easily accessed mudpots in the park. The area is highly active and at least one geyser is usually erupting here at all times.

This whole experience was just amazing. Sean was an exceptional guide, knowledgeable, experienced and personable. He regaled us with fun and interesting stories while pointing out important landmarks and animals. Being an avid photographer he knew when certain animals might be on that day, and was often spot on. The car was clean and comfortable. Scopes and binoculars were provided. Lunch was great ( donā€™t skip the cookies). I highly recommend this tour. Weā€™ll worth the money.

Our family of 4 (including a 3 year old and 8 year old) booked two days of tours in early October of 2021, including a "best of Yellowstone" and "Wildlife Safari" tour. We had Derek as a tour guide for both days and he was wonderful. The first day included an overview and stops at the "best of" what the park had to offer. Yellowstone is huge and it is truly impossible to see everything, however Derek selected locations that served as the best examples of the features that the park had to offer, so by the end of the day we put eyes on all of the things that make the park special. A few of these include the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, Mud Volcano (Dragon's mouth spring), Lake Yellowstone, many Geysers (including Old Faithful), paintpots and multiple other geothermal features. Derek's educational background and knowledge of the park was evident - he engaged in our love of learning and explained the history and science behind what we saw. I appreciated that he was able to relay the information on a level that even our 8 year old understood (and even our 3 year old at times). While the tour did include a good bit of driving, Derek used this time to describe the topographic/geographic changes we experienced during the drive and patiently answer ALL of our questions (and engage in our children's silly singing songs on repeat). He also had us out of the car as much as possible for short hikes - which allowed us to see a "hidden" waterfall and feel a mini-earthquake caused by the geothermal activity (and was just generally good for the kids' energy levels). Our second day was just as amazing if not more. We were up VERY early to try to experience as many animals as possible. We headed straight to the Hayden Valley and were so excited to see wolves! Given the small number of wolves in the park, this was a rare and phenomenal experience. Derek explained the history of the wolves in the park, their removal and then their reintroduction in the 1980's. This may have been our favorite memory of the two day tour. That same day we saw a black bear and two cubs (a bucket list item for the kids), multiple bison, elk, pronghorn, bighorn sheep, a bald eagle and others. Derek even drove around the "circle" in Mammoth Hot Springs about 10 times so my kids could see the Elk and hear their bellows before heading back to the hotel. The Company also provided gear that really made the viewing experience outstanding, including binoculars and high powered spotting scopes. Also to mention were the delicious lunches provided in the most beautiful settings each day. We would 100% do another tour with this group. Last, I appreciated that Derek conveyed to my children the need to respect both the animals and land forms in Yellowstone so it will be available for future decades and generations (and generally just the need to use common sense when in the park). Both of my kids say that their visit to Yellowstone was their favorite vacation ever (over Disney World, the Beach, NYC etc.) and my son still talks about our tour guide, Derek.

Overall the tour was breathtaking, fun and educational and our tour guide Cody brought it to the next level. He was passionate, energetic, knowledgeable and caring. Our family of 6 all enjoyed the tour and Cody made sure to keep checking in with our 7 & 9 year old to make sure they were having fun and staying warm. The tour was the highlight of our Big Sky vacation.
