My wife and I, 66 years of age, did Kawanti Adventure's Rainforest Zip, Skybridge & Rappel Adventure on May 19, 2022. We, along with 3 other people who arrived in Ketchikan via cruise ships, were met at the cruise ship dock and shuttled to the zip line site. Our guides were Tabby and Josh. They were enthusiastic, engaging and a major reason the adventure was so enjoyable. Our guides made sure our gear fit properly, then instructed us on how to glide on the ziplines. The zipline platforms are over 100 feet above the ground and not very large. If you are afraid of heights, you should skip this activity. The first couple zip lines were short and helped us get comfortable zipping from one platform to the next. It is quite exhilarating flying above tree tops on the zip lines. Walking across the hanging bridges I found myself holding onto the cables and just looking at the back of the person walking in front of me. I was not comfortable when I looked down. By the last zip line, I was really enjoying the ride and able to take in the scenery below. A photographer was stationed at one of the last platforms and took pictures of all members of our group as we zipped toward him. We purchased a thumb drive with all the photos. Everyone in our group really enjoyed this adventure. I would only change one thing about the adventure. As we were getting fitted for gear, Tabby and Josh emphasized emptying our pockets into a large bin. I put my cell phone, wallet and handheld camera in the bin so they wouldn't fall out of my pockets while zipping through the trees. I was wearing hiking pants with Velcro pockets. I wish I had kept my camera in one of my Velcro pockets so that I could show my three sons videos of their mother zip lining over the tops of trees. The camera has a wrisr strap. It would not have fallen out of my pocket and the wrist strap would have prevented it from falling to the ground if it slipped out of my hand while taking videos.
