My sister and I stayed at Beachcrest #401 unit.
3768 East County Highway 30-A , Santa Rosa, Florida 32459
September 22-28, 2024
My sister arrived at this unit at 9:00PM on Saturday September 22, 2024. The unit had NOT been cleaned from the previous renters. The manger had cleaners that came and completed by 1:30 AM. We had groceries that needed to be refrigerated so we went ahead and cleaned refrigerator and counters so we could put up our groceries. My sister and I then got to unpack, take showers and get to bed. Therefore we were tired the next day after a 7 hour drive and the cleaning issue on arrival. We thought that would be the end of the issues, but it was not. The thermostat in this unit is controlled remotely. The manger had a new remote system and could not get the thermostat to stay above 68 degrees, therefore the unit was VERY COLD OUR ENTIRE STAY. This unit also has a safety issue because there is not an inside safety latch. The only lock on the door is an outside REMOTE deadbolt lock that is controlled by a manager. This was an issue because on Friday when we were getting ready to go to dinner the cleaning crew were suddenly inside our unit. We told them we were not leaving UNTIL SATURDAY. Then within 30 minutes the microwave, oven/range, and family room TV went off. They stayed off until the manager REMOTELY got the microwave and oven back on. The TV never came on before we left on Saturday. He said it was the internet for the complex, but ironically no one else had an issue. None of these issues were related to the hurricane. We had only some rain and wind Wednesday evening and Thursday. The host Lisa did refund us $300 for Saturday night because we had no access to the unit. That was no compensation for how it ruined our stay on Sunday from not getting settled till 4:00 AM. Also, that was no compensation for the freezing temperature our entire stay or the issues Friday with the cleaners and appliances. We feel like our dates of stay for this unit were a result of poor communication AND NOT BEING ABLE TO WORK THEIR REMOTE SYSTEM (BUT THE CLEANERS HAD ACCESS). The safety at this unit is an issue. We kept a beach chair inside in front of our door at night. We understand a remote system when you have no guests, but if you have a remote it needs to work correctly when you have guests. Beware ABB tells you to work with the host with issues, which we did and they knew there were issues and we were working with Lisa. If it goes beyond 72 hours, ABB drops you with no help. We have tried to work with the host Lisa up until this point, but she does not reply to any of our communication - therefore she does not care to resolve this issue fairly. Also, ABB is no help. This was our first time using ABB. We will never use them again. We will use the other sources of obtaining places to stay , which we have used successfully for years with NO ISSUES.
