Old Burying Point Cemetery

Most people will tell you that the Burying Point Cemetery is the most haunted cemetery in Salem - and it would be hard for us to to disagree. The Burying Point Cemetery is a popular stop on guided ghost tours in Salem. You'll hear about the history of the cemetery, its connections to the Witch Trials, and the stories of the ghosts which are said to haunt it.

The tour brought us to a wide variety of locations with stories from all different eras in Salem's history, not just the witch trial period. Our tour guide, Shelby, was great - both knowledgeable and passionate about the topics, locations, and stories we covered as well as the paranormal field in general. Also, the fact that it was an adults only tour greatly enhanced the experience since this tour is able to discuss the entire truth of each story with all the gruesome details as a couple other tours we went on that were family oriented didn’t go into the same level of detail. It was both fun and educational, immersive and entertaining, and something I would recommend to anybody visiting Salem or even somebody who lives in the area who just wants to become more educated on local paranormal history. We had a great time! It was raining but the rain added to the atmosphere of spookiness. We went to Salem on our honeymoon and did the tour on our last night there. It was such a great experience!!

Oh my god! What a fun and informative tour! Shelby was an incredible guide! Feel lucky if you get her! She genuinely loves what she dies and it shines through. Also, completely unexpected and very rare... witnessed by multiple people we saw an apparition in walk in front of the last stop on the tour. It helped that we did the tour during a thunderstorm. Nobody else was around. What an incredible and unique experience!
