Overview

This is your opportunity for us to show you first-hand the beauty of Seward, Lowell Point, and Resurrection Bay. While making our way to our kayaking location, learn about life in Seward, both past and present, from your driver-guide, who will narrate as we make our way through town. As we leave the paved streets of Seward, we’ll travel along the shoreline of Resurrection Bay on the gravel surface of Lowell Road. We’ll view turquoise blue waters and beautiful mountain vistas while we travel comfortably by van to our private beach.

Upon reaching our launch location, you’ll meet your kayaking guides for a quick briefing before heading out onto the water. It’s common to encounter sea otters, harbor seals, bald eagles and leaping salmon as we kayak. We may stop to take a short walk on the beach along Tonsina Creek to view a salmon spawning stream (active mid-July to early-September). This the perfect trip for those experiencing kayaking for the first time or for those short on time.

We had a safe and easy but also fun and thrilling adventure kayaking in Resurrection Bay with Sunny Cove Kayaking! Our Guides Bug and Liz answered all our questions, made sure we were ok throughout the trip, and made the experience even more fun than it already was! We kayaked in May 2022 and were able to see a humpback whale at a distance out in the bay and a seal up close that watched us as closely as we watched him/her!

Amazing!!! Gree company and the kayaked several miles to the island which was pretty strenuous followed by a hike up to an old World War II fort and then kayaked back. Must be in fairly good shape my teenagers did just fine but I was very sore the next day but wouldn’t trade it for anything fantastic!

We had a beautiful experience at Fox Island with Sunny Cove Sea Kayaking. The excursions leaders really took the time to explain us all the safety tips needed to have a good and safe time… we saw killer whales, eagles, and many more marine birds up close and personal. This was a great and safe adventure.
