We luckily eked out just under the maximum water flow for the full-day Royal Gorge rafting trip with our 2 teenage grandkids. Lost Paddle is a smaller company, yes the storefront could have been more flagrant, yes the shuttle bus could have been more contemporary, yes the equipment could have been newer and yes the employees could have been more polished, but we prefer small business as opposed to big corporate and this laid back set up fit us to a T. They also offer the lowest prices plus a discount code when booked through their website. Scroll through to the bottom.
We felt really fortunate and pampered when we scored the trip rafting with only the four of us and our guide Nate. (Again...small business) His extensive knowledge and experience of river rafting all over the country is quite impressive for a young man of thirty. His love of the sport is obvious and his regard for safety impeccable right down to his white sunscreen!
Lunch was served on a canopy covered picnic table right next to the river. Deli sandwiches with all the fixings, chips & dip, fruit and drinks. Simple but adequate considering we were about to face the most challenging segment of the river...class 4 rapids! No time for a nap here! LOL
I must admit, us in our sixties and our two teenage grandkids, I was pretty anxious. But with Nate's precise instruction and reassurance we concluded the trip with no mishaps. Although we were sore for a day or so!
This experience was totally exhilarating and so much fun. I highly recommend Lost Paddle and absolutely request Nate if possible...he's awesome!

Thank you for writing up a great review on our outfit and Nathan! We feel being smaller empowers us to offer a higher level of personalized customer service, as well as being much more selective with whom we hire as part of our guide team. We're glad you had a great time rafting, and thank you for choosing Lost Paddle! Hope to see you here again -Jim & Kelly
