Look down into the breathtaking Royal Gorge as this tour takes you over America’s highest suspension bridge nearly 1000 feet above the Arkansas River. Exclusive access through the south entrance to the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park and to the top of Fremont Peak allow you to see and experience true Colorado beauty. Pass through a cemetery that is listed in the National Registry of Historic Places, view dinosaur footprints, and commonly see Colorado wildlife.

Royal Gorge Bridge and Park

Skyline Drive

Skyline Drive is a scenic roadway in Cañon City, Colorado. It was built by inmate labor in 1905.[1] The road starts from U.S. Highway 50, with a gradual incline up the side of a ridge. When the road crests, it winds, climbs, and falls like a roller coaster until near its end, where a scenic outlook overlooks both the city (east) and the highway (west). The single-lane, one-way road rises about 800 feet above the surrounding terrain. There are no guardrails despite sharp drop offs, and the drive is about 3 miles long.

Temple Canyon Park

Temple Canyon road winds over the Royal Gorge anticline through the ancient hunting grounds of the Ute tribe. The canyon road passes "The Temple" but you have to know where to look. Fossils can be seen along the road with other geological wonders.

We had the best time on this tour ! Scott was our guide. Highly recommended requesting him. He is so smart and shows you out of the way things. Great stories and history the entire trip ! Ask for Scott you will not regret it !

Once upon a time, 3 young ladies traveled to the foothills of Colorado. They quickly decided a Jeep tour in the mountains was a need, not a want. After a quick google search, they stumbled upon Colorado Jeep tours and were not disappointed. Richard was the fearless leader of the adventure. He ensured the group was safe and well-informed on what they were looking at. From fossils to wildlife and geology to forestry, they became experts in a matter of hours. Let’s not forget about the adrenaline high they experienced while voyaging up and down the mountain sides in the ORV. Would recommend this tour to anyone visiting the Canon City area and would recommend Richard as an excellent guide that made the trip unforgettable.

Our guide, Richard was entertaining. This is most definitely a JEEP TOUR. You are riding in a Jeep Rubicon. This is an off-road tour, not a smooth track. Not a complaint by any means, we enjoyed it thoroughly, just be prepared to bounced and jounced and to get dusty. We saw views that we'd never have seen had we simply drove out ourselves. There is a lot of local knowledge in one of these tours. You can get a map and a guide book, but it is not the same. In addition there are some roads and trails we traveled that we would not have been able to on our own as there are locked gates. As an example we crossed the Royal Gorge Bridge from the 'other side', then we also went to the top of Fremont Peak. The trip ended with a drive along Skyline Drive. Richard pointed out a lot of interesting facts along the whole trip, Fossils, Plants, History. You will not be sorry. GO.
