What To Expect
1
Royal Gorge Bridge and Park
Look down into the breathtaking Royal Gorge as this tour takes you over America’s highest suspension bridge nearly 1000 feet above the Arkansas River. Exclusive access through the south entrance to the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park and to the top of Fremont Peak allow you to see and experience true Colorado beauty.
2
Skyline Drive
Skyline Drive is a scenic roadway in Cañon City, Colorado. It was built by inmate labor in 1905.[1] The road starts from U.S. Highway 50, with a gradual incline up the side of a ridge. When the road crests, it winds, climbs, and falls like a roller coaster until near its end, where a scenic outlook overlooks both the city (east) and the highway (west). The single-lane, one-way road rises about 800 feet above the surrounding terrain. There are no guardrails despite sharp drop offs, and the drive is about 3 miles long.
3
Temple Canyon Park
Temple Canyon road winds over the Royal Gorge anticline through the ancient hunting grounds of the Ute tribe. The canyon road passes "The Temple" but you have to know where to look. Fossils can be seen along the road with other geological wonders.

We had the best day! Brandon was an excellent guide. He was very knowledgeable with a good sense of humor.

Above all, the jeep was not meant to carry more than 6 adults comfortably. There were 7 adults on our ride and 4 of us were crammed on one bench, which makes for an incredibly uncomfortable 3.5 hours with zero leg space to stretch your legs. If the people on your bench are large or downright overweight you are literally going to be crammed into a corner with zero room like I was. We did the half-day tour and that was miserable….I can’t fathom doing the full day tour in those conditions. The PA system in the jeep was not loud enough on some parts of the trip so be prepared to miss out on information. If you enjoy stopping to talk about the local cemetery and prison then you’re in luck….I guess this is what the website was referring to regarding “historical” parts of the community. I was pretty disappointed with the small amount of time at the Gorge relative to the rest of the tour but the fine layer of dust from the trails left us with a reminder of where we spent most of our time. We did see some deer and stopped to take some photos. Additionally, the tour has to stop at a few gates so the driver can unlock and reposition them…the heat of the day and cramped conditions make this really annoying. If you enjoy genuine jeep trail riding then this will please you once you get away from the pointless tour of the local area but don’t expect to get out and explore much. Most of the stops were spent just sitting in the hot, dusty & cramped bench area of the jeep while our guide gave us an uninspiring and humorless description of the rocks and trees around us while using laminated display cards to give us the real information. For the money I would rather just travel to the Gorge myself and spend some actual time there instead of showing to the visitors center that was closing in 5 minutes.

We loved this tour. My kids in early 20’s have the activity a big thumbs up. Brandon was a great guide!
