What To Expect
1
Royal Gorge Bridge and Park
Look down into the breathtaking Royal Gorge as this tour takes you over America’s highest suspension bridge nearly 1000 feet above the Arkansas River. Exclusive access through the south entrance to the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park and to the top of Fremont Peak allow you to see and experience true Colorado beauty.
2
Skyline Drive
Skyline Drive is a scenic roadway in Cañon City, Colorado. It was built by inmate labor in 1905.[1] The road starts from U.S. Highway 50, with a gradual incline up the side of a ridge. When the road crests, it winds, climbs, and falls like a roller coaster until near its end, where a scenic outlook overlooks both the city (east) and the highway (west). The single-lane, one-way road rises about 800 feet above the surrounding terrain. There are no guardrails despite sharp drop offs, and the drive is about 3 miles long.
3
Temple Canyon Park
Temple Canyon road winds over the Royal Gorge anticline through the ancient hunting grounds of the Ute tribe. The canyon road passes "The Temple" but you have to know where to look. Fossils can be seen along the road with other geological wonders.

The folks at Colorado Jeep Tours are wonderful, but our driver Mel was truly outstanding. This guy has stories about everything and everyone who ever had an impact on the area. The places he was able to show us are well off the beaten path and only accessible due to their relationships with the various land owners and/or government controllers. The ability to drive across the Royal Gorge bridge was really cool. I can't recommend this any higher, go do this! One caution, if you get motion sick you probably should not participate as some of the trails are really bumpy and toss you about some, nothing major, but if your stomach doesn't like motion you won't like the ride.

Thanks so much for your 5-star review of your Royal Gorge tour, and your professional guide, Mel. He is a really fun guide, especially if you love to learn about history, geology, the local flora/fauna and even paleontology! Yes, the off-road trails can be bumpy as they are not maintained, and are subject to weather erosion, especially during the summer thunderstorm season. We can usually help alleviate motion-sickness issues by putting people in the front passenger seat next to the driver if we know ahead of time. If anyone wants to request special seating on tour, please give us a call or send an email after making a reservation (or call to book). We will do our best to accommodate the request. Thanks again for your review, TXDirt. Hope to see you again soon!

Steve was our wonderful tour guide who is very friendly and knowledgeable. He pointed out various scenery to our party and was an excellent off-road driver. The path we took was very exciting for the kids and was exactly what we wanted to do on our Jeep tour. The Royal Gorge was the highlight of the trip. But all else was great. Steve was very accommodating to the guests with their level of experience with history of Canon City. He was constantly questioning us about random trivia within the area, meanwhile telling a great tale of how the city came to be. All in all this is the best Jeep tour in Colorado. P.S. Steve, if you see this we're the insane zip line family from Upstate New York!

We spent an afternoon with Colorado Jeep Tours and Steve Kaverman was our guide. He was knowledgeable and a truly admired all things Colorado. We had a fun adventure seeing the Royal Gorge and the surrounding areas. It was a great memory for our family. We also rode the train that morning, enjoying breakfast and beautiful views.
