My wife and I were going to be in Salem on Halloween, so we wanted to book a tour to get the full experience. We didnā€™t want a stereotypical ā€œwatch out, the ghosts will get youā€ kind of tour. We wanted to actually learn about the Witch Trials. And boy, did we ever. Jeffrey was our tour guide, and he provided us with so much information! Salem was very crowded, given that it was Halloween; however, this did not diminish the quality of our tour. Jeff had a microphone and speaker that helped project his voice above the crowds, and he gave us clear directions as to where our next stop was should we get separated in the crowd. It was evident that he was passionate about the Witch Trials in the way he spoke about them. The information he presented was captivating, and he answered any and all questions with logical explanations based on todayā€™s psychology. Our tour also took us to sites around Salem that we would have walked through without a second thought-we learned about the history of the town and land itself rather than a couple buildings, and stood exactly where the trials were heard, which was a moving experience. This tour was the highlight of our trip, and we will book again without a second thought. My wife is a teacher, and the storytelling of historical information we obtained is something she canā€™t wait to pass along to her students. This tour isnā€™t just Better than Fiction. Itā€™s better than your expectations, and you wonā€™t be disappointed.

Knowledgeable guide focused on the history and historical context, unlike other cheesy Salem attractions. Very informative and fast-moving.

Fantastic tour with so much interesting history and a funny host. We especially appreciated the ways that he situated the events of the trials in broader historical contexts and discussed how gender and race shaped the trials. We left feeling like we learned a lot, so the tour set a good tone for the rest of our time in Salem. Highly recommended!
