Jeff is an outstanding story teller! He gives an engaging and frank, and yet somehow sympathetic, narrative of the historical events around the witch trials. We loved the tourā€”a must do in Salem. We were all spell-bound and the kids said it was the best part of our vacation.

We THOROUGHLY enjoyed this tour. Jeff, our tour guide, was EXTREMELY engaging and kept everyone interested. Our teen children also really liked the tour. We found ourselves mesmerized by the story telling of Salemā€™s history as we strolled through the town. If you can walk 1 and 1/2 hours ā€¦ this tour is SOOOO worth it. Keep in mind that some of the streets/sidewalks are uneven. Be sure to go to the restroom before the tour starts. Bring a water bottle, comfortable shoes, sumglasses or a hat. Donā€™t forget to tip Jeff for entertaining you. :)

Great story telling and a wealth of historical information. However, the walking "tour" part was a little disappointing. One stop on the walk was in a dank alley next to trash bins and under dripping electrical wires. Another was in a roadway median where nothing notable currently stands. I understand the point was to highlight where things had happened in the past, but for someone who wanted to hear about Salem and SEE Salem, I felt the "see" part left something to be desired. Family agreed. But we loved the story telling pace and presentation.

Oh goodness! First off, we are very glad you enjoyed the presentation, historical information, and storytelling. But also, we are sorry that there is not more historical locations to see, most of the building ties to the trials have been gone for well over a century or two. Where the church was is now a restaurant, where the court house was is now a road, where the jail is is just office buildings. This tour is just about the Salem witchcraft trials and not of Salem as a city, and unfortunately, there really is very little left to see, one of the many burdens of history. We are very glad you joined us, and are terribly sorry that there wasnā€™t more to see (and also that it was trash day and rainy out).
