Tours depart at 4pm. Please plan to arrive 15-20 minutes prior to your tour. Check in at Salem Historical Tours Office at 8 Central Street, Salem, MA.
Please be advised that the state of Massachusetts and the City of Salem are requiring masks to enter business establishments. You will not be able to enter our business without a mask or face covering. Until further notice, a mask or face covering will be required on tours since we will not be able to stay six feet away from each other. Salem Historical Tours LLC reserves the right to deny service to anyone refusing to wear a mask or face covering. This requirement is subject to change based on orders by the state and the city.

We use an amplifier so you can social distance. Masks are not required outdoors but are optional. Effective Aug. 23, Salem is requiring that masks must be worn indoors whether you are vaccinated or not. You'll only need to come into our office to pick up your tickets and/or to peruse our gift shop.

What To Expect

Haunted Footsteps & Salem Historical Tours

Examine the demographics, theories and personal stories comprising the dire events of 1692. We will bring you to many of the locations that are full of witch trial history. Many of the structures are long since gone except for a few, but we know where they were located. This is a fascinating tour that will shed new light on what happened during the infamous witchcraft hysteria which turned neighbor against neighbor.

Salem Witch Trials Memorial

Dedicated in 1992, this bench style memorial is in remembrance for the 20 innocent victims of the 1692 Salem Witchcraft Trials.

Witch House

The only remaining Salem structure with direct ties to the witch trials of 1692.

The guide explained the entire story of the witch trials in detail and put it into the context of the era. He was very knowledgeable. I had the impression he had done his master's thesis on the subject. He started off explaining that the story is more complex than most people realize and then described all its intricacies. After the tour we stumbled on a memorial to the people who were executed. While the tour was very good, it would have have been even better if the memorial had been one of its stops. The day we were there was the anniversary of the execution of several of the victims and fresh flowers had been placed on the markers with their names.

Thank you so much for the kind words. It is a complex story with many layers. We usually let the guests go to the memorial that is next to the cemetery on their own. We find it can be crowded and difficult to do a tour there, especially if other groups are there for a tour.
