We did the 1-hour evening harbor tour when we arrived in San Diego our first night. The tour was nice and relaxing and we enjoyed it for the most part. We decided to sit inside (to avoid the bright sun) and the tables/chairs/booths were certainly worn well. They had a bar area where you could purchase some snacks and drinks (including alcohol) but prices were very high.
The sites were nice and the narration was alright, but we found it very difficult to understand much of what he was saying (and it was quiet inside where we were). I think they need to invest in a new speaker system.
Our biggest complaint was upon arrival back to the dock, the back end of our boat actually ran very hard into the boat next to us. Enough to jar us. I was standing and it caused me to stumble. It wasn't a "bump" it was hard. I went back to that corner and looked and could see the paint damage where we had struck the other boat. The nose of the boat was at the dock, the back end was way over and hit the other boat. It seemed they really struggled to get the back end around correctly and to dock us. Not sure if it was a new pilot or what?
Not a great ending for a service that should know how to drive a boat since that IS their business.
