I have been on this cruise 5 or 6 times, sharing it with visitors to San Diego. I have thoroughly enjoyed it every other time. The narrative has always been fascinating, on both halves of the trip. This time, however, the narrative was done in a sing-songy voice that was very disconcerting, as if it were directed at 2-yr-olds. My guests and a lot of people around us didn't listen to most of the narrative and I heard comments like "irritating".

it was a 2 hr cruise, it was packed and there was no seats and for a full hour was not able to sit, for the second hour i was able to sit and able to enjoy it more. The operator was knowledgeable, it was nice to learn about the navy, there was so many ships. the snacks and drinks are pricey.

We took the 11 AM 2 hr cruise and stood in line early enough to get seats on the top deck. Note that if you buy a gruopon, you need to check in at the window/booth prior to standing at the gate so they can mark your Groupon redeemed. The 2 hour tour starts on one side, then you drop off the other passengers/pick up and see the other side. Honestly, it was a bit long to sit for that long so if you are antsy like me or short on time, I would suggest the 1 hr South route which was more interesting. It is also colder and more windy (at least on the morning we went). The tour is a bit navy and military centric. The tour guide was talking about war ships and destroyers and missles! I guess that is cool but was a little out of place when you're enjoying the views. Good cruise for your out of town guests and you can walk around the harbor area after. Employees offter to take photos for you. TIP: park at the USS Midway lot ($10 and might be cash only I don't remember) and the lot is right next to the gate.
