I took my 9 year old daughter on the 1 hr cruise for a girls night. We had a great time. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable of the area. Boarding was quick and easy. We arrived early but there was plenty to see and explore on the pier. The boat didnā€™t feel too crowded so it seemed like the appropriate amount of people on board. My daughter did start to get a little restless so I think 9-10 is the right age. Any younger, it might be too long. Absolutely would do it again!

I got a free pass for a 1-hour cruise from my hotel. I took at North Harbor cruise at the end of the day on a weekend. Boat is a bit old. Drinks and snacks are available but people kept complaining that there was a line. As others have said, the bot first goes to the South side and then returns to the dock and passengers disembark unless they have signed up for the 2-hour cruise. The South Harbor passengers then get on and have to find available seats. This wasnā€™t a problem since people move around to take pictures, go downstairs, etc. Bring a jacket since it gets chilly once in open water. I enjoyed the North Harbor views - you get to see Point Loma, part of the Navy Base and gorgeous views of the city! Narration was excellent - brief and interesting. You can get your picture taken before boarding by a professional photographer. Cost was $10-$20.
