We enjoyed the beautiful view of the San Diego skyline and the holiday boat parade.
However, there were definitely problems with the service. When we boarded the boat, we were greeted with a glass of champagne and were told they were out of apple cider for the two children that were part of our party. Then we were told by the server that our main course was surf and turf and she took our orders for how to cook the steak. We were not served steak, but some sort of roast beef that was all cooked the same. We ordered cocktails as part of our prepaid drink package and the drinks were not what we ordered. Our dinner was served after a long wait, but the kids' meals did not come out for another half an hour. We asked for more bread but were told they ran out. The excuse for all this was that there was a very large party onboard, and that's why they were running out of food and drinks and why it took so long to be served. It seemed as if the staff was prioritizing the large party over individual reservations. Now these dinners all require reservations, so it was known ahead of time how many dinners needed to be prepared. Our server was good but had to spend most of her time apologizing for what went wrong. Will try another cruise line next year.
