I've traveled all over for decades, and I know bad things happen. I usually roll with the punches. But never in my life have I felt compelled to create an online profile and write a negative review -- until today. Hornblowers screwed my family over (and several others based on the crowds on the docks) because they decided to book us on a 5:30pm cruise that was never going to happen. I spoke to one crew member that literally told me "oh, they should never have booked you. This one was never going to happen." Unreal. And as the ticket booth passed the buck to the manager, Patrick Mowobi, his solution was for us to come back another day for a free trip. As I explained, we're tourists with planned itineraries...what the hell good is it to cancel my schedule tomorrow for his makeup tour? Nothing but crickets from him because he's not concerned (nor is Hornblowers) with making things right. Instead, the answer to everyone at the dock is "you're SOL". I'm one person writing a review, but let me tell you, there were tens of people all screwed over and flabbergasted at the non-response overall. I cannot believe these guys are in operation. There is too much competition in San Diego to roll the dice with amateur hour. Take your business elsewhere.

We are truly sorry for this experience and completely understand your frustration. Due to a technical error on our booking system, we were unfortunately unable to take down the 5:30 PM cruise in time. Rest assured that our team has taken the necessary measures to ensure that this does not happen again. We hope you can give us the opportunity to make it up to you the next time you make it to San Diego.

Spent quality time with family in San Diego, CA on the Hornblower cruise. Thanks to the USMC ITT office, I was able to purchase tickets for $7.25 each.

Even though I live on the water front in San Diego, I get an annual pass so that I can go out on the tourist boats. It never gets boring. I do both the local one hour harbor cruise and the whale watching which is about twice as long. You can take the cruises year-round because of our gorgeous weather almost 365.
