My husband, 2 friends and I had the pleasure of a dinner cruise of San Diego Bay to celebrate our anniversary. It was the end of October, so it was dark when we left the dock. The boat was on the small side with small dance floor. A DJ kept the music going. Service was spotty. Food was delicious and there was a nice selection of wines to choose from. If you are not in to dancing, then I suggest requesting seating on another level from the dance floor. It was a bit loud and lots of people hooting and having a great time. Perhaps romantic on the upper level. Views of city lights fantastic. Highly recommend....with caveat that it is better in the summer while it is light later in the evening.

Im giving this four stars only because I thought there would be sunset, but the ship started well after dark. Living on the East Coast with an early sunset, I mistakenly thought San Diego would be later. Thus, we took a cruise completely in the dark with the pretty lights. In terms of the cruise line, no complaints whatsoever. The food was excellent, as was the service. We each,ordered the short ribs as a main course and it was as good as any place Ive ever had it. A good size portion and very tender. Service was wonderful, DJ was present, and the company around us was good. And this particular night only 28 seats out of a potential 500 were sold. The crew and our treatment was five star.

My daughter and I had a chance to enjoy a luncheon cruise with Hornblower in the spring. It was a great experience. The food was very good, attention to detail and the staff were just right.
