San Diego: The Most Extensive City & Beach Tour

Overview

Led by a fun & knowledgeable guide, the 7 hour trip features a 3-hour scenic drive and 4 hours spent at various locations. Learn the history of San Diego between stops with live narration, music & video. See all of San Diego in just a few hours.

Pick up point is at Santa Fe Depot. We first make our way to the historic Gaslamp District & Little Italy. Then, down the Embarcadero to Chicano Park, over the Coronado Bridge & make a 1 HOUR STOP in the amazing city of Coronado. We then, go up the 5 Freeway to La Jolla Cove for a 50 minute stop, visit the Sea Lions. Mount Soledad is a 15 MINUTE STOP, see spectacular views of San Diego. Then we make a 50 minute stop at beautiful Balboa Park. We end the tour at the birthplace of California, Old Town, for a 50 MINUTE STOP, before returning to the downtown pick up point.

Gaslamp Quarter

We visit the historic Gaslamp District and learn about the history of Alonzo Horton and New Town.

Little Italy

Mama MIa! We drive by the largest Little Italy in America.

Embarcadero

We cruise past Embarcadero, where you will find the iconic Star of India & USS Midway. Then down to Seaport Village, the Convention Center & Petco Park.

Chicano Park

Get a glimpse of colorful Chicano Park, a true street art display featuring numerous impressive murals on the bridge pillars.

Coronado Bridge

We take a ride over the San Diego-Coronado Bay Bridge. Witness spectacular views of the San Diego skyline and Coronado.

Coronado

Discover a great view of Downtown skyline from Ferry Landing and the elegant Hotel Del Coronado, a true historic landmark dating back to 1888. Get some lunch on Orange Avenue, take a stroll on the beach. There is a 1 hour stop in Coronado, the Crown City.

La Jolla Cove

One of the most popular attractions in San Diego. See the seals in their natural habitat. Breath the cool ocean air and explore beautiful La Jolla Cove. There is a 45 minute stop here.

Mt. Soledad National Veterans Memorial

Honor our fallen soldiers and see spectacular views of San Diego. 15 minute stop.

Balboa Park

Take a walk in San Diego's green paradise, the incredible Balboa Park. Home to the famous San Diego Zoo & site of the 1915 Panama California Exposition. The park is also bustling with museums and landmarks. There is a 45 minute stop for you to discover the beauty of this park.

Old Town San Diego

Discover San Diego's roots in Old Town, the birthplace of California. Go back in time as you walk through the historic area and some of its emblematic buildings including the haunted Whaley's House and Casa De Estudillo from 1827.

We did not go on this tour because the tour operator asked to change days because he "didn't have enough people for the tour." We had booked other tours on the other days of our stay. He kept asking us to move our other tours around to another day more suitable for him, which we declined to do. It would have been ridiculous to do a city tour on the final day of our trip. We did our own tour in our rental car.

Hello. Every tour company needs a minimum number of passengers to do a tour. You are asked to move your tour date to a day that has enough passengers to do the tour. That is what happened in this situation. It is the unfortunate part of the business. This was disclosed to you before you purchased tickets.
