San Francisco Bay

The magic begins the moment you step aboard. The evening starts with cocktails on deck (additional charge) and continues in style with your sit-down dinner consisting of delicious appetizer, salad, choice of main course and dessert. After dinner, the live band will strike up and play a wide variety of music, including top 40 and classic hits to tempt you onto the dance floor. While dining and dancing you'll cruise in style past San Francisco's famous sights, including Alcatraz, Angel Island, Tiburon and Sausalito.

My husband treated me to a Hornblower Dinner Cruise, as part of my 40th birthday celebration in early September. The whole evening was magnificent, so-much-so I was brought to tears that's how much I enjoyed the experience. Your waiter/waitress plays a significant part in ensuring the success (for the guest) of the evening and I have to say ours, Gladys, was highly professional and a credit to the company. If the company reads this please could somebody make a point of appraising her for her excellent work that evening. We did thank her ourselves, but she showed us her badge and asked us to put in a good word for her, so here we are. Many thanks for an unforgettable and fantastic evening.

My only thing is don’t book with a third party. Book directly with hornblower. I paid extra for a window seat and didn’t get one due to the cruise messing up the seating. The manager said he can’t do anything about it. Something a manager should not say is he can’t do anything about it. I booked with Viator. Also, hornblower has a long wait time for the phones. Once I called Viator they gave me a partial refund. Other than that hiccup on my bf’s birtbday we had fun. We didn’t get our window seat which I recommend but I would do it again. The food was great, music was fun, and the views were exceptional. I highly recommend taking advantage of this. Also, our waiter was excellent!

Nice way to view San Francisco Bay at sunset and nighttime. The food was good and several choices were available for the main dish. The crew was friendly and music for dancing after dinner provided. All in all a very pleasurable experience.
