On our Secret Food Tour: San Francisco, the Mission District, you'll see how immigrants shaped the neighborhood by creating brilliant artwork, beautiful architecture and sharing their fantastic food! Originally home to Irish, German, and Italian immigrants, it is now the epicenter of San Francisco's Latino culture.

The Mission District is full of vibrant murals that offer a visual history lesson featuring themes ranging from cultural heritage to social-political statements. We will take a stroll through the neighborhood to get an up-close experience.

Our tours are more than just the food. Our local guides connect the dots between history, culture, and cuisine to provide you with a deep understanding of the Mission District's thriving culinary scene!

Thanks to Carly for a wonderful tour in The Mission District yesterday. She was fun, informative and led us to an interesting mixture of eateries. She brought us out food from each of the restaurants and even produced a bottle of wine from her backpack at the first stop on our tour! Everything went smoothly. The walking was mostly flat apart from the hill up to Dolores Park . It was so interesting to see the amazing murals and soak up the atmosphere that time flew by. Highly recommended.

Carly did a terrific job taking us on a tour of the Mission District. Although I've lived in the Bay Area for over 30 years, I wasn't familiar with this neighborhood. We ate lots of delicious food, discovered some hidden gems (restaurants), and saw several stunningly beautiful murals. Carly told us a bit about the history of the city. She was charming and well organized and we thoroughly enjoyed the tour.
