Tonia was a wonderful guide, giving us an intimate tour of some of the lesser visited areas of Santa Fe. She shared the history of the settlement, giving us insight into the lives of the native peoples before and after the Spanish incursion, with a focus on the changes in architecture and agriculture. Her background in architectural design and work at archaeological sites surely enhanced the informative tour. We were also able to stroll into more modern neighborhoods to see the subtle changes in housing design while noting the general uniformity of the Pueblo influence in Santa Fe. Tonia was friendly, had a great sense of humor, and immediately put us at ease. We were honored to view her beautiful historical home at the end of the tour as we shared refreshments.

We really enjoyed this tour. Our guide, Tonia, has deep knowledge in New Mexican architecture, preservation, and history and brings it together here. We toured some well known neighborhoods as well as others tucked away from typical tour routes. I especially liked the huge magical garden and sculptures hidden behind a wall along the street. Well worthwhile.

This was a highlight of my trip! Tonia took us on a magical walking tour of areas most tourists don't get to see and enlightened us about the history of the adobe architecture throughout the centuries. She included a few hidden gems which made the experience even more enchanting. Don't miss it!
