Santa Fe Railyard Farmers Market Food Tour

Overview
Embark on this unique 3 and a half hour walking food tour of Santa Fe's Railyard Arts & Culture District. You'll get a chance to learn about the arrival of the railroad in Santa Fe in the 1800s and the rapid change this brought to the surrounding area. The Railyard Arts District is Santa Fe's most vibrant, up-and-coming neighborhoods that's home to some of the best restaurants and food/beverage artisans in the city. Stop at four uniquely Santa Fe venues on this tour to eat, drink and regale in the rich culture of Santa Fe.

This tour is designed with adventurous eaters in mind. Some food in New Mexico can be spicy, and while we can accommodate food allergies we are not always unable to provide "non-spicy" alternatives.

We visited 3 restaurants and a distillery. This tour is in a class by itself because you go to a location, the railyard district, that is not often frequented by hordes of tourists. That's why we call it the "hidden gems" foodie tour. Our guide, Lauren, was fantastic. Her culinary background made the tasting experiences even more exceptional. All the places we visited were equally delicious, each offering quality dishes with unique flavors. Our favorite restaurant was La Choza which offered tasting of both New Mexica and Mexico style Pozole. The owner joined the guests at the table to explain the differences between these two Pozoles and also provided her personal family history in Santa Fe and in the restaurant business. The last stop was the distillery. We toured the the production area and learned a lot about the business and products. Tasting of both the products and cocktails made from the products. Super fun.

What a terrific experience, way beyond expectations! Visited multiple restaurants, and meet owners at each. History lesson, great food, fun times all in one. Will certainly do this again next time I'm in Santa Fe!
