Sarasota Guided Mangrove Tunnel Kayak Tour

Overview

There is a reason that the Mangrove Tunnels of Lido Key are a must-do experience when visiting the Gulf Coast. We launch from Ted Sperling Nature Park (190 Taft Dr Sarasota FL) which has clean restrooms, a rinsing shower, and shaded picnic tables. Our amazing local guides from Sea Life Kayak Adventures take you on a tour of Little Sarasota Bay, where you may see manatees, dolphins, a variety of birds and sea life...then finish up in the famous mangrove tunnels, a beautiful canopy that meanders thru an island. The tour usually goes around 2 hours, but we aren't on a strict schedule, so please allow for an extra half hour. We are located just minutes from downtown Sarasota, 20 minutes from Siesta Key, and a half hour from Anna Maria Island and Bradenton (add time for traffic during high season. We meet a HALF HOUR before our tours)

We had Chris as our guide, after going by several other tours thank god we did. He was knowledgeable, funny, supportive, and knew more about the marine life than most. He let me be a gondola pilot for my wife on a tandem in high winds so she could enjoy herself. The mangrove tunnels, manatee, and cormorants diving under the kayaks made for an incredible experience.

We had an absolutely fantastic time on the 2.5 hour morning tour with Chris! He took us to a perfect spot and we got to see a manatee (my favorite) and then we saw a pod of jumping dolphins, which was amazing! We also really enjoyed the mangrove tunnels and the gorgeous weather, which was perfect (November is a great time to visit as the beaches are less crowded and the weather is thoroughly enjoyable). 5+ stars, great service, knowledgeable guide, and affordable prices. We love to kayak but always take guided tours when we travel so that we can see the best places. Check this company out for a great eco-friendly tour!

Had a great time kayaking with Sea Life Kayak Adventures. Booking online was easy and signing all waivers online meant that we could get on the water on time. Our Guide was Chris and he was excellent as has been mentioned in many reviews. While we saw a variety of birds we did not see any Manatees or Dolphins. In spite of this, it is a great tour. The Mangrove tunnels create a unique experience even if you have been kayaking before. Chris has a wealth of information about the area and it's wildlife that he shares in a friendly and articulate manner. Book a trip. You won't be disappointed. This was our second trip with Sea Life and Chris.
