What To Expect
1
Cathedral of St. John the Baptist
Your 1.5-hour walking tour of Savannah begins in Reynolds Square, which contains some of the most interesting historical buildings in the city. Your guide will explain how this square was the center of colonial government in the 1700s, and originally held the House of Assembly, where the first reading of the Declaration of Independence in Georgia took place. Travel back in time as you enjoy a leisurely stroll through the streets and squares of Old Savannah and the downtown area, which includes the Savannah Historic District, the Savannah Victorian Historic District and 22 park-like squares. This area is one of the largest National Historic Landmark Districts in the US. You’ll be offered views of canopies of trees, floral landscapes and historic buildings as you hear stories about Savannah’s role as a strategic port city during the American Revolution and Civil War. Your tour ends back at Reynolds Square, leaving you with a great introduction to the Hostess City of the South.

We took a private walking tour of historic Savannah with Zach. He was personable, funny, and extremely knowledgeable about the city. And he was very patient with a slower pace for the older people in our group.

Very interesting and enjoyable tour although it started out a little shakey. Tour guide never introduced himself until we asked his name and never asked our names or where we were from even though there was only 4 of us in the group. He also looked like he rolled right out of bed to do our tour. However, as we walked around he was very very interesting both in his knowledge and his stories. We wound up having a very informative tour. It was only 90 min but perfect for what we wanted to learn about the history of Savannah. I'm only giving 4 stars though because of how it started out. With a few tweeks he could definitely be an amazing tour guide.

Thank you for the review! Your guide moved the group to an area where the leaf blowers weren’t so loud and it was then that he introduced himself. He already knew who you were. He had the reservation list. The tours are always 90 minutes in length. That’s the outer limits of most people’s attention spans. Sometimes we have guests on the tour who cannot walk. It’s true! Those tours can take a full two hours or longer to give. He didn’t just roll out of bed but he’s not a morning person either!
