What To Expect

Defiance Rafting

Your experience starts by meeting at the Defiance boathouse in No Name, CO in beautiful Glenwood Canyon (which is just 2 miles east of the community of Glenwood Springs). There, we will gear you up, talk about the trip, and introduce you to your river pro. Then we'll shuttle up the canyon to Grizzly Creek where we will put-in on the Colorado River. You'll begin your scenic float right away as we navigate down the lower half of Glenwood Canyon. There will be occasional splashes and opportunities to jump in the water through lower Glenwood Canyon and into the community of Glenwood Springs. • Class I–II • Trip Length: 2 hours to 2 1/2 hours (dependent on river flow) • Departs daily @ 9:00 am; 1:00 pm; and 4:00 pm • Check-In is 45 minutes prior to departure • Requirements: Paddlers must weigh at least 30lbs.

Cancellation Policy

For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

Thank you Matt, Ben, and Mike! We had a great day and you all made GG’s birthday special. Trip through the canyon was awesome and even though it was a “scenic float” there was enough splashing and rapids for all three kids to say “That was so fun!” Thanks again!!

Our float was absolutely perfect! Ashlynn was an incredible guide, ensuring we all had a great time and charged into some rapids throughout our ride. All of the staff we encountered was friendly, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. The afternoon we spent with Defiance was so memorable, and we can’t wait to do another float when we’re back in town! Do yourself a favor and book a float with them - you don’t be disappointed!

Awesome family fun! Perfect amount of sightseeing and excitement for a family with a wide age range. Our guide, Lilly, was friendly and enthusiastic, providing lots of interesting info and keeping our kids engaged and laughing. The trip was well worth the money for a memorable family adventure, and the pics we ended up buying at the end will be some of our favs when we look back on family vacations. Very happy we took this excursion and extremely impressed by Defiance and it’s staff!
