What To Expect

Defiance Rafting

Your experience starts by meeting at the Defiance boathouse in No Name, CO in beautiful Glenwood Canyon (which is just 2 miles east of the community of Glenwood Springs). There, we will gear you up, talk about the trip, and introduce you to your river pro. Then we'll shuttle up the canyon to Grizzly Creek where we will put-in on the Colorado River. You'll begin your scenic float right away as we navigate down the lower half of Glenwood Canyon. There will be occasional splashes and opportunities to jump in the water through lower Glenwood Canyon and into the community of Glenwood Springs. • Class I–II • Trip Length: 2 hours to 2 1/2 hours (dependent on river flow) • Departs daily @ 9:00 am; 1:00 pm; and 4:00 pm • Check-In is 45 minutes prior to departure • Requirements: Paddlers must weigh at least 30lbs.

We are traveling through Colorado and decided to do the Half Day Float. We arrived and we’re immediately greeted by the nicest people. They quickly got us our equipment and gave us a brief safety orientation. Our guide was Matt and he was amazing. He was so full of great facts that he shared and made our experience extra special. We honestly felt like we had known him for years. Don’t look any further and book with Defiance. You won’t regret it. It has been our highlight so far.

My daughter and I took the scenic rafting trip. We had a fantastic guide who knew all kinds of amazing interesting facts about the area. The views were absolutely unbeatable and the highlight was soaking in the Hot Springs. I highly recommend defiance rafting!

First experience ever rafting was 7-2019, Charlotte was so awsome, when we came back in 7- 2022 Taylor our Guide and Jeremy safety speech set the tone for a funny experience and level of professionalism which ensures we will be back to raft with THIS defiance team!! This time our 3 kids from 7-15 came and our guide integrated them so much they want to work there now!! Remember this company, remember these names, the whole outfit is worth more then any words I could write for these great people who helped make a family memory for a lifetime/until next time.
