We took an afternoon half-day float last week. It was the MOST fun!! We had our kids, ages 9, 7 and 4 1/2, and it could not have been more perfect, except for maybe less headwind! Will, our guide, was so engaging with our kids. He even stopped to pick up an inner-tube to connect to the back of our boat so the kids could take turns floating. Will made the trip easy and fun. He pointed out things to see on the canyon walls, gave us the history of a lot of things we asked about and stopped to let our kids throw rocks in the water. I would highly recommend a trip with Far Flung Adventures! Thanks for a great day, Will! We felt comfortable riding in the van, as there was a divider between the driver and the passengers and we had to wear our masks in the car. We were the only family in our van and boat. In the boat, since we were outside, we felt comfortable being in the boat with Will...and we had a huge headwind, that I'm sure blew anything away. I would have no hesitation recommending this company during COVID times.

The guides were wonderful. Their personality and helpfulness was second to none. Moderately priced for the length of the adventure and the professionalism and the amount of fun we had. I would suggest if you're in decent shape, to get your own individual kayak. Called a duckie. If not, or you have small children the group rafts are equally as entertaining.

Our guide Payton was fantastic! Super friendly and helpful. She did a great job with our 9 year old son Oliver who was reluctant to raft in the beginning. The scenery was beautiful and rafting was super safe and relaxing. The only difficult part was that when we arrived at the Pilar Yacht Club, there were no spaces to park and we circled and tried to figure out where to park. When I approached an older gentleman with Far Flung Adventures to ask him where to park, he was really rude and gruff with us and basically yelled at us for asking. We finally found out from another younger and friendlier staff member that we should just park at the Rio Grande Gorge Visitor center down the road and meet the guide there. It would have been easier had they told us about the parking from the beginning in the email communication so we could have avoided grumpy man. Otherwise, I'd highly recommend this company.

Hi there, We are so happy to hear that your trip went great! Peyton is a great guide and we are glad you got you experience the Rio Grande with her. We apologize that the older gentleman at the Pilar Yacht Club was unpleasant. He does not work for us and in fact owns the Cafe. We are sorry in any case for the unpleasant interaction, he is in his early 70's and currently gets a little stressed out when a bunch of people are at his store and milling about just due to the current public health crisis. I am sure that contributed to his attitude. Again, we are very sorry and will address this issue with him. We hope to see you again out on the Rio! Best, Will
