I understood that the trip would include a naturalist or at least a raft captain who could provide wildlife identification, river and area ecology and history, and give us a good idea of the area through which we were floating. We were disappointed. This was our captainās first season, and it showed. She could only identify bald eagles ( nice but not difficult)) and knew very little about the other wildlife we saw, nor did she impart any history or ecology. Her steering was not the best either- a few too many unnecessary rotations- considerably more than the other captains on the other rafts. To her credit, she was very pleasant and polite. The companyās reservations and organization were just fine.
