Overview

Get acquainted with Seattle's historic waterfront from the water side of the wharf on this fully narrated cruise of Elliott Bay and Seattle Harbor. This cruise follows the shoreline and provides up-close views of the piers, ports and area attractions. There are plenty of interesting features around the bay: the Port of Seattle (one of the busiest ports in the United States), Colman Dock (the main dock of the largest ferry system in the US), and Pier 90 (home of the region's cruise ship business), Alki Beach (major local summertime hangout), the Space Needle, the famous Hotel Edgewater, the Great Wheel and the Seattle Aquarium. First thing you notice when getting on the boat is almost all the seats are in the MIDDLE of the boat - blocking most views of outside! If you were lucky to get a spot near the window, you were rewarded with burning up cause there was no fresh air/air conditioning on the boat. If you decided you wanted fresh air you had to go outside - in direct sun with no shade. And you had to stand for the whole hour as there was limited outside seating. The tour guide may have been great - but I couldn’t hear him over people talking (and they weren’t talking too loud). Overall good idea - bad execution.

This is a lovely cruise that takes you into Seattle Harbor which give you fabulous views of Seattle. It is about an hour cruise and was very enjoyable. There is some food & drinks available. We really wanted to take the Ballard lock cruise but our timing was off so we will do that next time in Seattle.

We have been to Seattle several times and have done all the tourist stuff, Space Needle, The Ferris wheel etc. but we have never taken a harbor cruise. The evening was perfect, warm and clear and Mt. Rainier was fully visible. It lasted an hour and the narrator gave a lot of information, history, identifying the numerous buildings on the skyline and the industrial part of the harbor. Our 6 year old grandson was pretty bored so I’m not sure it’s all that interesting for younger kids. My husband and I both enjoyed it though but don’t expect a wow factor.
