Seattle Harbor Cruise

Overview
Get acquainted with Seattle's historic waterfront from the water side of the wharf on this fully narrated cruise of Elliott Bay and Seattle Harbor. This cruise follows the shoreline and provides up-close views of the piers, ports and area attractions. There are plenty of interesting features around the bay: the Port of Seattle (one of the busiest ports in the United States), Colman Dock (the main dock of the largest ferry system in the US), and Pier 90 (home of the region's cruise ship business), Alki Beach (major local summertime hangout), the Space Needle, the famous Hotel Edgewater, the Great Wheel and the Seattle Aquarium. Last but not least, enjoy tremendous views of the natural beauty that surrounds Seattle. The majestic Olympic Mountains lie to the west, solitary Mount Rainier to the southeast, and the inviting Cascade Range to the east.

We were able to get onto the first cruise leaving within an hour of when we arrived. There are plenty of small shops nearby to amuse you while you wait. The cruise itself with the tour guide is excellent with a one hour spin around the Seattle waterfront. One half of the tour highlights the downtown buildings all along the waterfront (be sure to try to sit on the left side of the upper deck as you board the boat for the best view) and the other half of the tour cruised among the huge shipping container industry operations. The narration was informative and cheerful with the tour guide on the open upper deck and good sound throughout the boat. It was such a gorgeous day no one sat on the lower inside decks just about so the upper deck was crowded but we found a seat. It's actually best to sit in the middle seats so you can see both sides of the tour. At one point the tour guide took a break and let people walk around a bit.....otherwise no one was getting up and down during the rest of the tour so you better have a good seat. There's plenty of drink and snack foods available too even with waitress service on the upper deck.

If you want to relax, sit back, and enjoy a view of Seattle, this tour is for you! The narrator was very knowledgeable about the city and made the hour boat cruise very enjoyable. The view of the city was breathtaking and it was clear enough that day to see Mount Rainier from afar. Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone and everyone!

A group of seven of our family were playing tourist and enjoyed this harbor cruise. Staff were nice. Narrator had good energy and humor, and we learned some new tidbits about our city. Good to see the Norwegian Joy’s hugeness compared to the city, and loved watching the giant cranes loading shipping containers onto cargo ships. The down side: after rushing up two flights of stairs to the open deck and finding 7 seats together, we discovered that we sat on the wrong side. Only if you sit on the right side do you see the skyline and all the sights the narrator is pointing out. So we ended up splitting up, standing at various places, feeling like we were blocking views. Was a bummer to not spend our cruise together as a group. But everything else was good.
