Seattle Harbor Cruise

Overview
Get acquainted with Seattle's historic waterfront from the water side of the wharf on this fully narrated cruise of Elliott Bay and Seattle Harbor. This cruise follows the shoreline and provides up-close views of the piers, ports and area attractions. There are plenty of interesting features around the bay: the Port of Seattle (one of the busiest ports in the United States), Colman Dock (the main dock of the largest ferry system in the US), and Pier 90 (home of the region's cruise ship business), Alki Beach (major local summertime hangout), the Space Needle, the famous Hotel Edgewater, the Great Wheel and the Seattle Aquarium. Last but not least, enjoy tremendous views of the natural beauty that surrounds Seattle. The majestic Olympic Mountains lie to the west, solitary Mount Rainier to the southeast, and the inviting Cascade Range to the east.

Seattle is surrounded by water, so a tour on a ship/boat is a must on your visit. You will see the port of Seattle, hopefully in action with containers being loaded and unloaded, facts about landmarks in the Skyline, great picture opportunities. There was even some marine life such as seals hanging out on the Sound FYI the trip was done back in March 2010. I traveled alone during my trip, but I went on the cruise with someone I met during my visit.

My husband & two daughters (21 & 16) thoroughly enjoyed this 1 hour boat trip around the bay on our first day in Seattle. Our tour guide was a young man called John who was very knowledgeable & gave a running commentary for nearly the whole trip. He definitely earned the round of applause when we docked. We would definitely recommend this extremely interesting, entertaining & enjoyable Argosy cruise.

I took the one hour harbor front tour of Seattle in early August of 2019. I took it starting at 1445. The Argosy office and dock is at the Seattle Wharf. Seattle's equivalent of Fisherman's Wharf of San Francisco. Along the Wharf which you can not miss with all the people walking around you will find a sign along the street along the wharf that says Argosy. About 100 feet in from the sign is their reservation office where I b ought my ticket. They also ofer a two hour cruise but you have to ride a bus to another dock to board the boat. The queue for the 1 hour harbor front cruise is about 50 feet out the door of the reservation and to the left(going away from the street). You will see poles and tapes for the line. They will start queueing up at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled departure. You will walk hte dock for about 100-200 yards before boarding the boat. You will endter on the lowest deck. There are two decks above it. Deck 2 has lots of big windows all around the boat. I believe the same on lowest deck. Dec 1 or top deck is completly open with lots of chairs all around the ship. There is a running bar on a lower deck and they have a man going around taking and returning bar orders. he will also bring water if you request it(believe this is free). The harborfront tour is narrated by a live person who does it very well. He has obviously done it numerous times and it did not sound scripted or read verbatim. He did an excellent job. Made the cruise well worth it. Gave personal comments about sports teams, etc.. You get a view of the drydocks, wharves where 1,000+ feet long freighters are unloiading, city skyline, etc.. You get a view you will certainly not get without being on the water. The ship can hold up to 450 passengers to give you an idea of size. I did not feel crammed on the boat I was on though I heard the annoucement the boat was fully sold out before boarding. I would certainly recommend this cruise for anyone visiting Seattle. .
