Seattle Harbor Cruise

Overview
Get acquainted with Seattle's historic waterfront from the water side of the wharf on this fully narrated cruise of Elliott Bay and Seattle Harbor. This cruise follows the shoreline and provides up-close views of the piers, ports and area attractions. There are plenty of interesting features around the bay: the Port of Seattle (one of the busiest ports in the United States), Colman Dock (the main dock of the largest ferry system in the US), and Pier 90 (home of the region's cruise ship business), Alki Beach (major local summertime hangout), the Space Needle, the famous Hotel Edgewater, the Great Wheel and the Seattle Aquarium. Last but not least, enjoy tremendous views of the natural beauty that surrounds Seattle. The majestic Olympic Mountains lie to the west, solitary Mount Rainier to the southeast, and the inviting Cascade Range to the east.

We were able to finish up a private tour of Mt. Rainier with Cheryl's Northwest and barely made it to the Harbor Cruise. Kudos particular for TJ for helping my son and to Rebecca for ensuring we had a spot. She truly went out of her way to make sure we had a wonderful experience, noting we came all the way from Tampa Florida! I would recommend this cruise and try to get there an hour ahead. If you can't, call ahead and if they (Rebecca) can, they will totally try to make it happen for you! Won't forget this, and thank you Argosy!

We had a delightful tour of the harbor, learned some history and even saw Mount Rainer. Food and drinks are available but we just stayed on the top deck enjoying the view and listening to our guide, whose name I unfortunately don't remember. He was funny and a wee bit entertaining. We paid for the CityPass and it's worth every penny. Definitely worth the hour.

I took this tour right after the underground tour, it's about a half mile walk. You can get the cruise at the pier for $31, so watch the online prices. Also, I printed my barcoded pass that I got from email and assumed that was sufficient to board, but I was told I needed to go get a boarding pass. Since the online price may not be the best, you may as well buy on site for potential savings and no hassle getting on board. If you have a clear day, the hour on board are great. As with any tour, it is the info you learn that brings the city to life. A crew member is on the tour to provide a lot of history of Seattle and the sights. Some of the more trivial information you may find interesting is the place where your McD Filet-o-fish is initially processed. The cruise passes right by it. The speakers are good so you can hear from anywhere on the boat. Definitely worth the hour!
