Overview

Get acquainted with Seattle's historic waterfront from the water side of the wharf on this fully narrated cruise of Elliott Bay and Seattle Harbor. This cruise follows the shoreline and provides up-close views of the piers, ports and area attractions. There are plenty of interesting features around the bay: the Port of Seattle (one of the busiest ports in the United States), Colman Dock (the main dock of the largest ferry system in the US), and Pier 90 (home of the region's cruise ship business), Alki Beach (major local summertime hangout), the Space Needle, the famous Hotel Edgewater, the Great Wheel and the Seattle Aquarium. Last but not least, enjoy tremendous views of the natural beauty that surrounds Seattle. The majestic Olympic Mountains lie to the west, solitary Mount Rainier to the southeast, and the inviting Cascade Range to the east.

My experience was better than expected. I thought it would be cold and I would get seasick. Neither happened. My mom and sister visited from out of town and they too enjoyed the tour. We took the Puget Sounder train from Lakewood and walked from King Station to pier 55 and boarded. My mom is 79 and had no difficulty making it.

We were fortunate to have a clear, sunny, dry day with mild winds and slightly cool - waters were calm. Access was easy - enter off Alaskan Way along the waterfront. Boarding went smoothly - somewhat limited seating in the open air on the top level but able to get outside/topside seats. Outside group thinned rapidly once the cruise began. Tour guide, Michelle, was excellent - knowledgeable and good sense of humor. Views of Seattle and surrounding geography, including Mt. Ranier on this day, were beautiful. Lasted about an hour - was a nice relaxing experience. If you enjoy scenic vistas in a relaxing setting, would recommend.

Another Seattle Must-Do! The views from this cruise were amazing even though it was cloudy/cold. The clouds disappeared by the end where we got some even better pictures, but overall great crew and narrator.
