Our guide was Travis, so kind and easy going, but knowledgeable and professional too.
He graciously led us among the fascinating Hawaiian history, starting with the significance of Iolani palace and the statue of King Kamehameha; before leaving Waikiki, we could take a look at the 'coral' church and a glimpse of Chinatown.
Afterwards we climbed the hill leading to the “moving” Punchbowl Memorial. Each stop became more interesting thanks to stories and facts that Travis was sharing with us – eager to answer to each of our questions. A spectacular view over Waikiki and Diamond Head is one of our favorite memories.
We even visited an ancient “heiau” (or sacred place) where locals still offer gifts to the gods - and a curious restored old fishpond.
In each of the places we visited Travis explained history and traditions of the various ethnic groups who had arrived to Hawai’i islands and some of the recent changes that are occurring still nowadays: VERY interesting!!.
We would recommend this tour , not only to someone into history , but to everyone wanting to explore the heritage and history of these islands !!
Thank you, Travis , for so many wonderful memories
