What To Expect
1
Castle Clinton National Monument
For more than 200 years, The Battery has been an invaluable part of New York Cityā€™s history. Decades before Ellis Island was built or the Statue of Liberty gazed down at incoming boats, millions of newcomers arrived at The Battery from Europe and elsewhere.
2
Statue of Liberty
[Pedestal visit is not included] Its most notable feature is the Statue of Liberty, a large statue by FrƩdƩric Auguste Bartholdi that was dedicated in 1886.
3
Ellis Island
Ellis Island was the busiest immigrant inspection and processing station in the United States. After welcoming more than 12 million immigrants to our shores, Ellis Island is now a poetic symbol of the American Dream.

I think the title of this tour is somewhat misleading. It is called ā€œSecrets of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island,ā€ but most of the information is available by reading the information available to all visitors on displays and plaques. I was hoping the tour would go deeper than easily available information, but it did not. Our tour guide was Charles. He knew all of the information he shared forward and backward. He was kind, professional, and spoke loudly so that I could even hear him easily over the rain. He did a great job, I was just hoping for more content.

Our tour was on one of our coldest days in NY. The blue skies belied the wind chill factor on the islands, which certainly adding to the tour's "atmosphere". Ben is an enthusiastic guide. His stories were interesting and interactive and there was plenty of time for photos. Recommended.
