What To Expect
1
Chapel of the Holy Cross
is a Roman Catholic chapel built from 1954 to 1956 into the red rock buttes of Sedona, Arizona, within the Coconino National Forest. It was inspired and commissioned by local rancher and sculptor Marguerite Brunswig Staude, and was designed by August K. Strotz of the firm of Anshen & Allen, with Richard Hein of the firm as the project architect. The chapel is under the auspices of the episcopal see of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Phoenix and its ministry is conducted by St. John Vianney Parish, Sedona.
2
Tlaquepaque Arts & Shopping Village
Your unforgettable Sedona experience must include spending time at internationally renowned Tlaquepaque (pronounced T-la-keh-pah-keh), Sedona Arizona's Arts & Crafts Village, on of the best things to do in Sedona. Nestled beneath the shade of the sycamores on the banks of beautiful Oak Creek in Sedona, Tlaquepaque is the most distinctive Sedona shopping experience to be found in the Southwest. Authentically fashioned after a traditional Mexican village, Tlaquepaque, meaning the "best of everything," has been a Sedona landmark since the 1970's. Enjoy lunch at one of the restaurants in Tlaquepaque or make a reservation at a local eatery (recommendations available upon request).
3
Cathedral Rock
Cathedral Rock is predominantly an Upflow Vortex (especially the 1st half of the trail). Great for soaring and feeling inspired for greater oneness and serenity. The flat area 1/2 way up also has wonderful views of Sedona and the Chapel of the Holy Cross. The top (the saddles between the spires) is one of Sedona's best Combination Vortex (sometimes called Electromagnetic) areas that allow you to do more advanced spiritual skills and deeper forms of meditation.
4
Oak Creek Canyon
This will be followed by the beautiful oak creek canyon where the Navajo and Hopi make and sell exquisite jewelry.
5
